Sun Protection Creams

Effective protection from the sun

Enjoying the sunshine is one of life’s simple pleasures — but too much exposure can be harmful. Sunburn isn’t just uncomfortable; it can accelerate skin ageing and increase the risk of skin cancer over time.
The good news is that sun damage is entirely preventable. By applying a high-quality sunscreen regularly, you can keep your skin healthy, protected, and youthful.
Our range of sun protection products, from trusted brands such as Nivea and Piz Buin, includes creams, sprays, and aftersun lotions to help you stay safe whether you’re at home, on holiday, or spending time outdoors.
As one of the UK’s trusted online pharmacies, we only stock dermatologically tested and clinically proven sun protection formulas made by reputable manufacturers. Explore our full range below and find the SPF and formulation that best suits your skin type.

FAQs

1. What SPF should I use daily?

For most people, SPF 30 or higher with broad-spectrum UVA and UVB protection is recommended. Use SPF 50 for sensitive or fair skin, or when spending extended time outdoors.

2. Do I need sunscreen on cloudy days?

Yes. Up to 80% of UV rays can pass through clouds, meaning your skin is still at risk of damage even when it’s overcast.

3. How much sunscreen should I apply?

Use about 2mg per cm² of skin — roughly a shot glass (30ml) for the body and a teaspoon for the face and neck. Reapply every two hours or after swimming, sweating, or towel drying.

4. What does “broad-spectrum” mean?

Broad-spectrum sunscreens protect against UVA rays (which cause ageing) and UVB rays (which cause burning).

5. Can sunscreen prevent tanning?

Sunscreen reduces skin damage from UV rays but may still allow a light tan to develop. It helps prevent burning and premature ageing.

6. What’s the difference between lotion, cream, and spray?

· Lotions: Lightweight, ideal for body use.

· Creams: Thicker, more hydrating — great for dry skin.

· Sprays: Convenient, quick, and easy to apply evenly.

7. Is aftersun necessary?

Aftersun helps soothe, cool, and rehydrate skin after sun exposure, reducing discomfort and peeling.
